Course Overview

Financial Management deals with managing the financial aspects of a business and helping them with various solutions to achieve the desired goals and objectives. It deals with all the financial aspects of the business to help them in avoiding risks and helping them to troubleshoot their financial problems.

The focus of this course is in the area of financial management. We will show managers how to interface with accounting and finance departments, and help them to understand how firms meet their financial objectives by utilizing financial decision-making. 

This course will introduce you to financial tools and techniques, which can be used to help firms maximize value by improving decisions relating to capital budgeting, capital structure, and working capital management. This course will deal with a number of related topics, including financial management, and risk management.

Course Audience

Financial Management involves the use of numerical techniques, and it is, therefore, useful for students to have completed Management Accounting and be familiar with costing approaches, and cost behavior.

This course is designed for;

  • Business Managers

Course Objectives

The main goal of this course is to develop a foundation of financial management concepts. This will enable to the students understand how corporations make essential investment and financing decisions, and how they establish working capital policies. 

Upon completion of this course, students are expected to;

  • Understanding the role of financial management within an organizational context and developing a broad range of financial skills
  • Learn how to use the main treasury management techniques.
  •  Understand how the finances of a company work, and how they will be interfacing with finance
  •  To apply a range of numerical techniques to capital investment projects
  • The use of numerical skills in the application of various approaches to pricing of goods and services, and also to the specific issues involved in the pricing of items that are transferred between divisions of an organisation or companies within a group.
  • Learn specific techniques that are applied in the context of managing individual elements of an organisation’s working capital
